You are growing up in a world that is loud, fast, and often confused. Every day, many voices compete for your attention and tell you who to be, what to want, and how to live. In the middle of it all, God has something better to say to you. He says that you were made on purpose, and that you were built to shine.
This devotional was written for children and teenagers who want to walk with Jesus in real life: in the classroom, at home, among friends, and online. Each day gives you a Scripture to hold, a thought to carry, a prayer to pray, and a declaration to speak over your life.
The Bible describes God’s Word as milk for the growing believer: “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2). That is the heart of this series. Small portions, taken faithfully every day, produce a strong and healthy faith.
Over the thirty-one days of October, you will discover who you are in Christ, learn to stand firm against temptation and peer pressure, grow in courage, and begin to see the purpose God has for your life. My prayer is that by the end of the month you will not only know that you are a light, but that you will be living like one.
