THE SECRET OF GOD PRODUCES EXCELLENCE
“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. (Daniel 6:3, KJV)”
True excellence is the outward expression of an inward life governed by God. When a person walks closely with God, divine wisdom, integrity, discipline, and distinction become evident in that person's life.
Daniel did not rise above others through manipulation, unhealthy competition, or political influence. He was preferred because an excellent spirit was found in him. His distinction flowed from an inner life shaped by devotion to God, unwavering integrity, wisdom, discipline, and faithfulness.
The secret of God is discovered in reverent fellowship with Him. As we spend time in prayer, meditate on His Word, and obey His instructions, He forms His character within us and gives us wisdom for our responsibilities. Excellence is therefore more than natural ability or impressive performance; it is doing God's will with the right spirit, sound judgment, diligence, and integrity.
Daniel served under imperfect earthly systems without allowing those systems to corrupt his convictions. He remained dependable in public because he was devoted to God in private. His enemies searched for grounds of accusation concerning his work, yet they could find no error or fault in him because he was faithful. This teaches us that communion with God should produce visible quality in our leadership, careers, ministries, relationships, and stewardship.
God desires to fulfil His purpose in us and through us. However, spiritual intimacy must be accompanied by responsible action. Pray deeply, prepare thoroughly, keep your word, honour deadlines, develop your gifts, and refuse compromise. When the wisdom of God governs your heart and excellence marks your work, your life becomes a credible testimony of His transforming power.
I carry the wisdom and character of God into every assignment. Mediocrity, compromise, and disorder will not rule my life. By the help of the Holy Spirit, I will walk in integrity, serve with excellence, and fulfil God's purpose for my generation, in Jesus' name. Amen.
